On the Water Real Estate offers a unique approach to real estate sales in Maine. We’re the only company on the coast of Maine that only offers waterfront homes (although we do offer some waterfront village homes as well). We believe this approach to real estate shows that we are innovative, creative and forward-thinking. We’ve come into real estate backwards. That is to say, usually a real estate agency is formed, then a rental division is added – then at some point, growth into mortgage lending occurs. We started with the boat rental and vacation rental businesses we also operate and then opened On the Water Real Estate brokerage to provide our clients with a more complete range of services.
Tiffany grew up on the coast of Maine and Lane’s Island off southern Maine is named after Tiffany’s ancestors – who were chased off the island by Native Americans in the early 1700’s. It’s safe to say that her roots are deeply buried in Maine as a result.
Starting her real estate careers in 1997, Tiffany purchased her first home, a waterfront cottage, in Union. She has bought and sold several waterfront homes since learning more and more about the most desirable home ownership in our State - waterfront. Her first vacation rental business was born around that time called "On a Lake in Maine". That transitioned into On the Water in Maine® in 2006 when the desire to list saltwater properties was also included.
Since 2006, Tiffany has been involved with the management of over 500 waterfront homes around Maine – whether as property managers, rental agents, as the mortgage broker, or more recently, as the real estate sales agent. As On the Water in Maine® - Vacation Rentals grew into the predominant vacation rental agency it has become – in the top 15 rental agencies in Maine out of over 90 – the need to help people buy or sell real estate grew.
Over the years, many of On the Water in Maine’s rental guests have sought the advice of Tiffany to help them purchase the right home for them. They had pleaded for Tiffany to become a real estate agent and until recently – she was not. After finally succumbing to requests, Tiffany became a Maine real estate agent in 2014 and quickly became the ‘rookie of the year’ in her sales market.
Since we’re in the real estate business, we truly believe in a "bricks and mortar" approach to servicing our clients. Still while our home office may be in Rockport and our seasonal vacation rental office is in Damariscotta – it’s worth noting that our reach in real estate is not limited to those areas. In fact – as we do with vacation rentals – we operate between the Maine/Canadian border and the Maine/New Hampshire border. We offer rental homes in Cape Elizabeth to the west, just as we do in Harrington to the east. Off-shore islands aren’t off-limits to us – we operate in Vinalhaven as well as in Casco Bay.
Our beautiful Rockport office was custom designed for our industry in 2012. It represents all that we want to offer our Clients in the business operations we engage in.
